Cara Weichman has spent the last 15 years working in the real estate industry. Her specific areas of expertise center around investment properties and 1031 tax-deferred exchanges as well as new development.
Cara spent several years at CBRE as an commercial investment broker, specializing in privately-held multifamily properties between 20-100 units. She then shifted her focus to land acquisition, entitlement, and development work, where she spent six years analyzing and securing land deals for the country's second largest private homebuilder, helping the company expand its footprint into several new markets.
More recently Cara has served as a private consultant for several high net worth investors, successfully managing the acquisition of cash-flowing real estate investments and and 1031 exchange opportunities across the country, integrating more complex investment strategies including Delaware Statutory Trusts, unwinding Tenant-in-Common structures with full equity preservation, and integrating self-amortizing investments into a portfolio.
She has been recognized by her peers as a leader in the field, with accolades including being recognized on the OC Metro "40 Under 40" list and Real Estate Southern California Magazine "30 under 30" list as well as being named "Rookie of the Year-2006" by the Building Industry Association, Orange County and CBRE's "Runner of the Year-2001."
When she is not working, Cara enjoys traveling with her husband and three children.
